Sacred Sun Cooperative Farm is a 100-acre organic farming community, nestled amongst the rolling hills of Jefferson County, just north of Lawrence, Kansas. Established in 2013, this young band of homesteaders works to provide a “whole-diet CSA” for their table and yours, cultivating a wide assortment of vegetables and fruit, grains and dry beans, culinary and medicinal herbs, pastured pork, chicken, and eggs. We also produce an assortment of value-added foods, including sprouted flours, masa harina, sorghum syrup, and herbal teas.

Our primary means of getting good food to hungry folks is through farmers markets. You'll be able to find us at the Brookside Farmers Market (KCMO) each Saturday this season, and at the Cottin's Hardware Farmers Market (Lawrence, KS) each Thursday afternoon. You're also welcome to visit our farm and get food fresh out of the field, but do contact us first to arrange a visit.
Currently accepting CSA members for the 2017 season! We'll be using the Brookside market as our drop-off point in Kansas City, and the Cottin's market for our Lawrence friends.
Our season runs 24 weeks, May 8th through October 18th. We only offer full shares, costing $20 per week (expect $25 worth of goodies in each bag). Payments can be made in full, in halves, or on a monthly basis. We're also certified to accept SNAP credits and Vision cards.
Diversity is important on our farm, and on your plate! We grow a variety of delicious and beautiful vegetables. You can look forward to 5-7 different items picked fresh in your share every week. During the warmer months we look forward to sharing the bounty of summer with you as well, expanding the varieties when we can. Examples of items could be: a bunch of crispy carrots, a container of bright peas or a single juicy melon. The amounts will be comparable to our farmer’s market bunches and those you would find in the grocery store.
We wish we could provide you with all the food you could need! In that effort we strive to bring you a “whole diet” when we can. This means that we will include value added items in your bag, averaging one per week. These items have been made on the farm, from farm goods, or in collaboration with folks we trust. Some of last year’s value added items were: pork raised on the farm, pesto, wheat flour, heirloom corn grits and dried beans. We will also have eggs throughout the season and we would be glad to hold some back for our members, when they are available.
