Salsa Gardening for Kids – May 13

We will be making a salsa garden. We will be planting transplants of tomatoes, peppers, onions & cilantro. We will finish the class with eating some salsa and chips.

This class is open to children age 5-12. Consistent attendance of one adult per child is required.

Tomatoes 101- March 12

We believe that heirloom tomatoes are one of the best things about summer. We are super excited that one of KCFC member farmers will share some of his secrets to growing fantastic tomatoes.

Join John Cobine as he walks you through the basics of tomatoes: types of tomatoes, heirlooms vs hybirds, sowing, transplanting and caring for them. This is a hands on workshop and each person will get their own flat, insert and a dome to start up to 50 plants.

Cobinsteinz Farm is an organic vegetable farm that focuses on sustainable practices and growing methods with an emphasis on heirloom and unique varieties. Cobinsteinz Farm is known for is growing over 300+ varieties of tomatoes.

Tea Cupping with Hugo Tea Feb 25

We love a really great cup of tea! And we really love a really great cup of ethically sourced organic tea.

Join us as we spend an hour sampling some of the best tea in the city. Zach will be on hand to guide us through the basics of tea and demo international cupping procedures.

Hugo Tea is made up of tea drinkers who believe that people should know where their tea comes from. They travel thousands of miles each year to build relationships with farmers, pursing the greatest teas from the cleanest tea gardens in the world.

Learn to Make Ravioli- And eat it too

Ravioli, the plural version of Raviolo, is the beloved stuffed pasta largely believed to be invented in Italy in the 14th century. 

There’s nothing so delicious as fresh pasta, and crafting it yourself is much easier than you might think!  Join the Kansas City Food Circle and Beth Barden from Succotash and learn how to use local & organic ingredients to make amazing ravioli.

In this interactive cooking class guests will learn to create ravioli, have dinner, and will also be able to take home their ravioli creations.

Our next event in our Farm to Table series is dinner at The Farmhouse, one of the first  farm-to-table, tip-to-tail restaurants in Kansas City Located in the River Market neighborhood, The Farmhouse features locally sourced ingredients crafted into amazing dishes by Chef Michael Faust. We will present Chef Michael with the freshest ingredients and he will transform them into a delicious farm-to-table meal while we enjoy a special cocktail from their renowned bar.

Your ticket price includes dinner at The Farmhouse, a cocktail, a glass of wine, or a "mocktail".
